courtney marie is a writer & artist based in denton, texas. cm often works with paper/mixed media & utilizes text as an art medium & performance object. they are the author of don't get your hopes up (2018, Thoughtcrime Press) and songs we used to dance to (2022, Goliad Media). cm enjoys making weird & sentimental art with/for their community & is a founding member of the artist collective spiderweb salon. cm lives with three cats & cries a lot. they dream of a free palestine & a better world for everyone. at Speedbump you can explore their chaotic & colorful studio, which will feature a new art vending machine among many other surprises.. so bring your quarters!

Dr. Jeanette Laredo

Dr. Jeanette Laredo is a writer, mixed media artist and educator who enjoys making artist trading cards. 

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are 2.5 x 3.5 inch pieces of art that can be traded between artists in-person or by mail.

ATCs make art accessible to everyone and can be made in any medium by artists of all skill levels.

Create with us! For Speedbump, there will be an ATC station at Spiderweb HQ with supplies where can make your own cards and trade for any of the ATCs on display that have been made by Spiderweb Salon artists!

The PETAL Project

The PETAL Project (Participatory Environmentalism Through Art & Learning) provides opportunities to take part in cultivating environmental care and concern in our communities, while developing actions aimed at protecting the environment. We combine the expressions of our creativity and imagination with the development of environmental knowledge and community building skills. We are a shared community of environmentalists, educators, ecologists, naturalists, activists, artists, creative placemakers, and community builders that seek to cultivate environmental action and nurture caring relationships with the living and nonliving entities we share the environment with.

Mausoleum Seals

Mausoleum Seals is a queer Denton-based visual artist. Their primary medium is ink and gouache paint although they are known to dabble in acrylic, color pencils, digital art, and mixed media. Their inspiration is often found where observation, imagination, and rumination combine. Many of their pieces are created as a transposition of an experience with mental illness, sleep disorders, and disabilities.

Hannah Ussery

Hannah Ussery is Spiderweb’s resident bird-girl. Often lost - sometimes in fields, sometimes in forests, sometimes in music - Hannah can be spotted looking for birds with camera in tow. She also has taken to block printing in the last year, and many of her prints of will be on display at Spiderweb HQ!

Marco Zavala

Marco Zavala is a visual artist and poet. An ill wad of energy in a dream. If it wasn't for time & base survival, he would create in all mediums every ridiculous & serious idea he has, as well as consume everyone else's ideas with the attention they deserves. He likes snowcones.
